Additional information

Andreas obtained his Master of Science (2015) in Civil Engineering from the Technical University Munich (TUM). After his graduation, he worked as a bridge engineer from 2016 to 2017 at the engineering office “BUNG Ingenieure AG” based in Munich, Germany.

In October 2017, he moved to the Bundeswehr University Munich (UniBw) and became a PhD. candidate at the Chair of Steel Structures under the direction of Prof. Taras. His main research during that time was the stability of high strength steel hollow sections, especially the post buckling behavior and the influence of initial imperfections based on real geometry 3D surface scans (Reverse Engineering) on the rotation capacity. In addition, he dealt with the assessment and evaluation of imperfection shapes of spiral-welded, big scale tubes.

In October 2019 he moved from the Bundeswehr University Munich to the Eidgenössische Technische Universität Zürich (ETH Zürich), again as a PhD. candidate under the supervision of Prof. Taras, and will continue his ongoing research at the Chair of Steel and Composite Structures.
