Novel Design & Assessment Methods

The methods by which the performance of structural components and systems are designed and assessed is currently undergoing major changes, which our group is helping to propel. We develop design routines, algorithms and tools that help the structural engineering field increase the efficiency and economy of its output. In addition, we develop methods to accurately predict the remaining strength and service life of structures, or determine the causes of observed failures. We actively work on the dissemination of best-practices in the field of steel and composite structures through our involvement in various dedicated national and international technical-scientific committees.
